Old Time Resident Passes Henry E. Loranger, pioneer resident of Chester, died at his home in Burbank, California.

Loranger was 78 years old at the time of his death. He came to this part of the state in 1900, settling on a ranch south of Chester. He later moved into town and for a time was engaged in the saloon business here. He then moved to Havre and was the first sheriff of Hill County. In later years he was chief of the Burbank police department.

  1. small possibility number 3 is my great grandfather Ed Pearl. Ed and Hank jointly owned the Gildford Buffet abt 1911 or so. I have an old photo of them together in Gildford that I could sent you a copy of but not sure how to do that from this page?
